Timpanogos Regional Hospital first in Utah County to offer procedure that eliminates need for blood thinners

Timpanogos Regional Hospital is the first hospital in Utah County to perform the WATCHMAN proceedure. Dr. David Wang, a cardiologist at the hospital, inserts a closure device that allows patients to stop taking blood thinnners if they have atrial fibrillation. The implant reduces the risk of stroke and allows most patients to stop taking blood thinners all together after 45 days.
